Platform Overview

What is OTG Voip Signal?
+

OTG Voip Signal is a cloud-based communication platform that allows businesses to make calls, send texts, and host video meetings using their internet connection instead of traditional phone lines.

How does it differ from a landline?
+

Landlines rely on copper wires and physical location. OTG converts voice into digital data packets sent over the internet. This allows for HD voice quality, mobility (use it anywhere), and advanced software integrations.

What are the key benefits?
+

Benefits include up to 50% cost savings compared to traditional carriers, the ability to work from anywhere via mobile/desktop apps, and enterprise features like auto-attendants included in every plan.

📞

Number Porting & Management

Can I keep my existing numbers?
+

Yes. We support Local Number Portability (LNP). You can transfer local, toll-free, and fax numbers to OTG. We handle the paperwork with your current carrier.

How do I get a virtual number?
+

You can instantly provision new virtual numbers in the admin portal. These can be local area codes from any US state or toll-free numbers (800, 888, etc.), regardless of your physical location.

What is a VoIP 'Line'?
+

In the cloud world, a "line" usually refers to a User Seat. One user license allows for multiple concurrent calls (e.g., placing one on hold to answer another), unlike a physical wire which is limited to one conversation.

📱

Compatible Devices

Do I need special hardware?
+

No hardware is required. You can use the OTG App on your existing laptop or smartphone. However, if you want a physical phone, we support standard SIP devices.

Which desk phones are compatible?
+

We support most major SIP brands, including Poly (Polycom), Yealink, and Cisco. We generally recommend phones that support HD Voice (G.722) and Power over Ethernet (PoE).

Can I use analog phones?
+

Yes, by using an ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter). This device connects your old phone to the internet. However, for the best quality and feature access, we recommend IP phones.

🚀

Why Switch to OTG?

What makes OTG different?
+

OTG focuses on reliability (99.999% uptime) and ease of use. Unlike legacy carriers, our support is 24/7, and we include premium features like CRM integration and analytics in our standard bundles.

Is the migration difficult?
+

Migration is seamless. We provide temporary numbers so you can start using OTG immediately while we port your existing numbers in the background. The switchover happens with zero downtime.

⚙️

Account Administration

What are the internet requirements?
+

We recommend 100 kbps (0.1 Mbps) of bandwidth per concurrent call. A standard 50 Mbps business connection is sufficient for most offices.

How do I manage users?
+

Everything is managed via the web-based Admin Portal. You can add users, assign numbers, change call routing flows, and view analytics instantly from any browser.

Core Capabilities

What is Inbound Call Routing?
+

Smart routing sends calls to the right person based on rules you set—such as time of day (business hours vs. closed), caller ID, or IVR selection (Press 1 for Sales).

Is International Calling supported?
+

Yes. OTG offers highly competitive international rates. Because calls are routed over IP networks, you avoid the heavy fees charged by traditional phone companies.

🔒

Network & Security

What happens during a power outage?
+

Your system stays online in the cloud. Calls can be automatically forwarded to employee mobile phones using "Failover Forwarding," ensuring you never miss a client even if your office has no power.

Is the platform secure?
+

Yes. We use TLS/SRTP encryption to secure voice traffic. Our data centers are ISO 27001 certified and geo-redundant. We also offer HIPAA-compliant configurations for healthcare clients.

🔌

Enterprise & SIP

What is SIP Trunking?
+

SIP Trunking connects an on-premise PBX (legacy hardware) to the internet. This allows you to keep your existing phone system while benefiting from OTG's lower call rates and reliability.

What is Cloud PBX?
+

A Cloud PBX is a virtual phone system hosted entirely on the internet. It replaces the physical server box in your office, offering greater scalability and lower maintenance costs.

💡

Common Misconceptions

Is VoIP only for big companies?
+

No. VoIP is actually the best solution for small businesses because it requires zero capital investment. You can look like a Fortune 500 company (with auto-attendants and hold music) for a fraction of the cost.

Does VoIP sound worse than a landline?
+

False. Modern VoIP uses HD Voice codecs (like G.722) which provide twice the audio fidelity of a traditional landline call, making conversations sound clearer and more natural.

📖

Tech Glossary

ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter)
+

A device used to connect standard analog telephones or fax machines to a digital VoIP network.

Latency / Jitter
+

Latency is the delay in audio transmission. Jitter is the variation in that delay. High jitter causes "choppy" voice quality.

PoE (Power over Ethernet)
+

Technology that lets network cables carry electrical power, allowing IP phones to run without a separate power brick.
