This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the acceptable and unacceptable uses of OTG Networks services. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in immediate service suspension or termination.

Enforcement Notice

OTG Networks reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate service for any violation of this Acceptable Use Policy. We actively monitor network usage for compliance and will report illegal activities to law enforcement authorities. Repeated or severe violations may result in permanent account closure without refund.

1Prohibited Activities

You may not use OTG Networks services for any of the following activities:

  • Violating local, state, federal, or international laws
  • Facilitating illegal gambling or money laundering
  • Drug trafficking or illegal substance sales
  • Copyright or trademark infringement

🦠Malicious Activities

  • Transmitting viruses, malware, or spyware
  • Distributing ransomware or trojans
  • Launching denial-of-service attacks
  • Hacking or unauthorized system access

💬Abusive Communications

  • Harassment, threats, or intimidation
  • Hate speech or discriminatory content
  • Defamation or libel
  • Stalking or unwanted contact

📧Spam & Unsolicited Messages

  • Sending bulk unsolicited emails (spam)
  • SMS/MMS spam or text blasts without consent
  • Robocalls or auto-dialing without authorization
  • TCPA or CAN-SPAM Act violations

🎣Fraudulent Activities

  • Phishing or social engineering schemes
  • Identity theft or impersonation
  • Credit card fraud or financial scams
  • Pyramid schemes or multi-level marketing fraud

👶Child Safety Violations

  • Child exploitation or endangerment
  • Distribution of child sexual abuse material
  • Grooming or predatory behavior toward minors
  • Exposing minors to inappropriate content

🚨 Zero Tolerance Policy

OTG Networks has a zero-tolerance policy for illegal activities, child exploitation, and fraudulent behavior. Accounts engaging in these activities will be immediately terminated, and we will fully cooperate with law enforcement investigations.

2Network Security

You must take reasonable measures to protect the security and integrity of our network and services.

2.1 Account Security

  • Secure Credentials: Use strong, unique passwords and enable multi-factor authentication
  • Unauthorized Access: Do not share login credentials or allow unauthorized users to access your account
  • Security Incidents: Immediately report any suspected security breaches to security@otgnetworks.com
  • Device Security: Keep devices running OTG applications updated with the latest security patches

2.2 Network Abuse

The following network activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Port scanning or network reconnaissance
  • Attempting to intercept or monitor communications not intended for you
  • Traffic pumping or artificially inflating call volumes
  • Bandwidth flooding or resource exhaustion attacks
  • Exploiting system vulnerabilities or security flaws

⚠️ Toll Fraud Prevention

Be vigilant against toll fraud schemes. Implement call routing restrictions, monitor unusual calling patterns, and report suspicious activity immediately. OTG Networks is not liable for charges resulting from unauthorized use of your account due to compromised credentials.

3Communication Standards

All communications made through OTG Networks must comply with applicable laws and industry best practices.

3.1 Regulatory Compliance

You are responsible for ensuring compliance with:

  • TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act): Obtain prior express written consent before making marketing calls or texts
  • TSR (Telemarketing Sales Rule): Honor Do Not Call lists and time-of-day restrictions
  • CAN-SPAM Act: Include accurate header information and unsubscribe options in commercial emails
  • GDPR/CCPA: Respect data privacy rights and obtain consent for data collection

3.2 Professional Conduct

  • Maintain professional and respectful communication at all times
  • Clearly identify yourself and your organization when making calls
  • Provide accurate information and avoid deceptive practices
  • Honor opt-out requests promptly and maintain suppression lists

4Fair Use Guidelines

Our "unlimited" plans are designed for normal, reasonable commercial use by standard business operations.

4.1 What Constitutes Fair Use

  • Regular business calls and meetings during normal business hours
  • Standard customer support and sales communications
  • Internal team collaboration and conferencing
  • Reasonable voicemail and call recording usage

4.2 Unreasonable Use Examples

The following activities are considered excessive and may result in conversion to metered billing:

  • High-Volume Call Centers: Operating large-scale inbound/outbound call centers without appropriate licensing
  • Continuous Calls: Making uninterrupted calls 24/7 or calls exceeding 4 hours in duration
  • Auto-Dialing: Using predictive dialers, power dialers, or auto-dialing systems without authorization
  • PBX Trunking: Trunking calls to other PBX systems without appropriate SIP trunking licenses
  • Reselling Minutes: Reselling or redistributing voice minutes to third parties
  • Recording Storage: Using unlimited recording storage for non-business purposes or archival beyond retention needs

5Caller ID and Authentication

Proper caller ID practices are essential for maintaining trust and complying with telecommunications regulations.

5.1 Caller ID Requirements

  • Accurate Information: Display accurate caller ID information that identifies your business
  • Authorized Numbers: Only use phone numbers that are properly assigned to your OTG account or legally ported to our network
  • No Spoofing: Do not falsify or manipulate caller ID to deceive recipients or hide your identity
  • STIR/SHAKEN Compliance: OTG Networks implements STIR/SHAKEN authentication to verify caller identity

5.2 Prohibited Caller ID Practices

  • Displaying fake or misleading phone numbers
  • Using local caller IDs to deceive recipients ("neighbor spoofing")
  • Impersonating government agencies or legitimate businesses
  • Hiding your identity for malicious purposes

⚖️ Legal Consequences

Caller ID spoofing is illegal under the Truth in Caller ID Act, with penalties up to $10,000 per violation. OTG Networks will cooperate fully with regulatory investigations and may be required to provide caller information to authorities.

6High-Risk Use Restrictions

OTG Networks services are not designed, intended, or certified for use in critical or life-safety applications.

6.1 Prohibited High-Risk Applications

The following use cases are strictly prohibited:

  • Medical life support systems or patient monitoring
  • Emergency dispatch or primary 911 services
  • Nuclear facility operation or control systems
  • Air traffic control or aviation navigation
  • Military weapons or defense systems
  • Critical infrastructure (power grid, water treatment, etc.)

6.2 Emergency Services Limitations

  • VoIP 911 service operates differently than traditional landline 911
  • Service may be unavailable during power outages or internet disruptions
  • You must keep your emergency dispatch address current in the admin portal
  • Maintain backup communication methods for life-safety situations

⚠️ Critical Safety Notice

If your use case requires guaranteed uptime for safety-critical applications, OTG Networks services are not appropriate. You must implement fail-safe alternatives and redundant communication systems. OTG Networks is not liable for injuries or damages resulting from service disruptions in high-risk scenarios.

7Monitoring and Enforcement

OTG Networks actively monitors service usage to ensure compliance with this Acceptable Use Policy.

7.1 Monitoring Practices

We reserve the right to monitor:

  • Call volume patterns and destination numbers
  • Bandwidth usage and network traffic
  • Complaint reports from recipients or third parties
  • Security threat indicators and anomalous behavior
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements

7.2 Enforcement Actions

Violations of this AUP may result in the following actions:

Warning Notice

For minor or first-time violations, we will send a written warning and request immediate corrective action.

Service Suspension

Repeated violations or failure to comply may result in temporary suspension of service until the issue is resolved.

Plan Modification

Excessive usage may result in conversion from unlimited to metered billing or requirement to upgrade to appropriate licensing.

Account Termination

Severe violations, illegal activities, or repeated non-compliance will result in immediate account termination without refund.

Legal Action

For illegal activities, we will report to law enforcement and may pursue legal action to recover damages and cooperate with investigations.

7.3 Appeals Process

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may submit an appeal to compliance@otgnetworks.com within 10 business days. Include your account details and explanation of the circumstances. Appeals will be reviewed within 5 business days.

8Reporting Violations

We take violations of this Acceptable Use Policy seriously and appreciate reports from the community.
